The 37-year-old full-back was released by Burnley last summer following their relegation from the Premier League.
Phil Bardsley has played over 400 career games and over 300 games in the Premier League since 2003 for the likes of Sunderland, Manchester United and Stoke City. He has signed with County until the end of the season, becoming the first player in the Club’s history to agree to donate his entire salary to the County Community Trust.
We are pleased to announce the signing of former Premier League defender Phil Bardsley on a free transfer.

Phil joins the Club on a deal until the end of the season, and will be donating his entire salary during his time at Edgeley Park to @SCFCCommunity 🙌#StockportCounty
He will be donating his entire salary during his time at Edgeley Park to the club’s community charity which helps engage the local community through its extensive programme of work which includes education through sport, volunteering and promoting healthy, active lifestyles.
Phil has been training with the first-team in recent months as he recovers from injury after leaving Burnley in the Summer, and after impressing during his time at Carrington now joins the ranks as we look to push on up the table in the second half of the season.
