Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to end his working relationship with traditional agent Jorge Mendes.

Following his mega money transfer move to Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly continuing to distance himself from long-term representative Jorge Mendes. Jorge Mendes has represented the interests of the Portuguese forward way back from 2003 before he joined Manchester United from childhood club Benefica.

Mendes is among the most influential football agents in the world, with clients including David de Gea, José Mourinho, Diego Costa, James Rodríguez and João Félix. Outside of football, the Portuguese super agent represents the interests of clients such as Formula 1 star Charles Leclerc, triple jump champion Patricia Mamona, surfer Frederico Morais, tennis player João Sousa and the cyclist João Almeida.

Reports claim the relationship between these long time partners went into dilemma earlier before Cristiano Ronaldo left Italian side Juventus as a free agent to Manchester United. At that time, Mendes advised his client to join Manchester City though the Portuguese super star decided to take on with Manchester United.

Again, Ronaldo's interview with interviewer Pier Morgan occurred without his agent's knowledge yet it was such a sensitive matter. It should be noted that it was in that interview where the Portuguese forward spoke of the bitter truth about his life at Old Trafford.

Later, Cristiano Ronaldo decided on his own to terminate his contract with the Manchester club before the FIFA 2022 World cup where the matter was to worsen. This deliberately soured his relationship with agent Mendes who considered this decision to be hasty and could end the career of his client besides turnishing the legacy of the super agent. It is in this tournament that Ronaldo agreed with Ricardo Regurte, who became his personal agent in 2018 and saw the Portuguese forward join Saudi Arabia top flight league.

Ricardo Regufe, who orchestrated Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Al-Nassr has been friend to Portuguese captain for over the past two decades. Ricardo was instrumental in letting Cristiano Ronaldo sign with Nike.
